Horns were exclusive to the demon race, with single horns limited to males and twin horns limited to females. Pointy ears were exclusive to the elf-equivalent race considering that the English localization of PSO2 has already shown where they stand on SJW issues (like removing the gender-specific barriers in the hot springs), this is probably not just being done for the benefit of customization, but because they want to push the gender fluidity nonsense.įrom the perspective of longtime PSO2 fashionistas, one of the major complaints was the gender and race locked hairstyles, outfits, tattoos, animations. On one hand, one could make the argument that this is a positive thing since it simply allows for more character customization. Anyone can have elf ears, or horns, or giant robot parts.

As for races, they're just entirely gone. It seems that you can freely use the costumes of either gender just by swapping between the two types. Now, you just choose a "masculine physique" or a "feminine physique" - the terms male and female being apparently replaced by "Type 1" and "Type 2". Well, in the new PSO2: NGS stream that aired a few hours ago, they revealed that race and gender are both gone from the game.

This affects what kind of fashion options you have (most outfits are gender-specific, and some are race-specific), a few race-unique traits (like Newmans having elf ears) and also affects your stat growth.

In regular PSO2, when you make a character, you have to select a race (out of four different ones) and choose whether you want to be male or female.
